Reports to: Senior Site Operations Manager
Purpose of the role:
An Auto Electrician to accurately and quickly diagnose vehicle defects and repair appropriately. Also to undertake vehicle diagnostics, repair, and other related work as directed on Terberg equipment and any other specialist equipment that is maintained by Terberg DTS. To ensure acceptable levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and quickly fault diagnose and undertake resultant repairs, including the use of electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Where possible ensure a first time fix.
- To undertake vehicle servicing, repair and other related work.
- To complete all vehicle servicing and repair documentation correctly, in a timely manner and to a good standard.
- To be able to interpret and remedy vehicle defect descriptions communicated by vehicle users.
- To be willing to assist colleagues in the execution of their jobs as required.
- To maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
- Develop own competence to meet requirements of job Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job.
- To maintain and develop current processes and procedures in the upkeep of the internal documentation.
- There will be an element of manual handling involved.
- To be able and willing to communicate effectively within Workshop Management and Supervision, work colleagues and customers.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a workshop environment
Key Requirements:
- To demonstrate substantial experience in Auto Electrician fault diagnosis and resultant repairs, including the use of electronic diagnostic equipment.
- To include working experience of a range of heavy goods / specialist vehicle.
- To liaise with the Workshop senior engineer and Workshop Co-ordinator at the Commencement of duty each morning to receive guidance/instructions on Vehicle defects and related repair priorities.
- To liaise with vehicle operators as necessary in order to receive details of defects and to analyse and interpret such communication in an effective manner in order to efficiently rectify such defects.
- To be able to fill in company time sheets and service reports and any other paper work required by the company in a clear and timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Levels 1, 2 and 3 City and Guilds Auto Electrician or equivalent qualification.
- Certified to work on 110/240 volt electrical systems or be prepared to undertake training to gain 110/240 volt electrical certification
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a workshop environment.
