Role: Test and Development Engineer

Location: Warwick, CV34 6TE

Hours: 37 hpw, between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 - 13:00 Friday

Salary: between £50,000 and £60,000 pa DOE

 

Are you a hands‑on leader who thrives in fast‑moving environments and loves turning rigorous testing into customer‑ready quality? We’re looking for a proactive Team Leader – Test & Development to manage vehicle validation and lead a high‑performing team at Dennis Eagle. You’ll make sure new technologies and product updates are robustly proven, well‑documented, and delivered on time and to cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team delivering Test & Development activities for Dennis Eagle vehicles
  • Plan and manage all validation work, including certification and trials with external suppliers
  • Ensure technologies, products, and vehicle updates are thoroughly validated before release
  • Balance resources and skills to hit programme deliverables
  • Own test equipment upkeep and calibration standards
  • Grow capability through regular 1‑2‑1s, mentoring, and targeted training
  • Drive projects to agreed timescales and budgets with clear, traceable documentation
  • Champion continuous process improvement across the function

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven and demonstrable relevant experience, with proven coordination of test projects end‑to‑end
  • Strong instrumentation and DAQ expertise (e.g., HBM QuantumX, Vector; NI DIAdem, MATLAB, CATmanAP, nCode)
  • Skilled in DVP leadership, test method selection, and sourcing/specifying equipment
  • Confident with CAN logging and J1939 data interpretation
  • Clear technical reporting, methodical troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis
  • Knowledge of standards (EN, FMVSS, ECWVTA); experience with external test bodies (e.g., MIRA, CSA)
  • Effective people leader—coaching, mentoring, and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Degree in Engineering (or equivalent), cross‑functional collaborator, full UK driving licence; occasional travel required
